We are excited about the co-location of Connect Tour, Connect THRIVE Summit, and eTourism Summit with IPW. We realize, though, that there are many questions as the two audiences come together at one trade show.

General FAQs

Why did Connect Travel decide to co-locate with IPW?

The co-location of Connect TOUR, Connect THRIVE Summit, and eTourism Summit will further enrich the IPW experience, providing travel marketers with cutting-edge tools and intelligence to promote their destinations and products in a post-COVID world. Connect TOUR expands the traditional domestic (U.S.-based) buyer program offered at IPW by providing an opportunity for U.S. suppliers to meet with packagers focused primarily on domestic travelers. Co-locating Connect TOUR at IPW allows everyone to come together on a national stage for a larger presence.

Can Connect TOUR suppliers and buyers participate in IPW networking events?

Yes. Connect TOUR participants are eligible to join IPW attendees at the IPW opening and closing receptions, luncheons, education programs, and other networking events that are part of the official IPW Program, unless indicated as restricted to a particular sub-set of the IPW attendees.

Do Connect THRIVE Summit delegates have any access to IPW?

Yes. Connect THRIVE Summit delegates may attend the IPW opening reception on Sunday, September 19.

Do eTourism Summit delegates have any access to IPW?

Yes. eTourism Summit delegates may attend the IPW opening and closing receptions (Sunday, September 19, and Wednesday, September 22, respectively). The eTourism Summit badge also grants access to the official IPW luncheons (Monday-Wednesday), which offer the opportunity to meet with the Marketing and Technology Providers exhibiting in the Marketing and Technology Pavilion.

Exhibitor FAQs

What type of travel suppliers typically purchase a Connect TOUR Table Top?

U.S. destinations and other travel suppliers wishing to reach domestic operators, U.S.-focused OTAs, retailers, consortia, and travel clubs.

Can a Connect TOUR Table Top exhibitor register more than one delegate?

No. The Connect TOUR table top only permits a single delegate: the Key Contact.

Can a Connect TOUR Table Top exhibitors meet with a traditional IPW buyers and media?

No. Connect TOUR suppliers cannot schedule appointments with IPW’s international leisure or MICE Buyers, traditional IPW Domestic Buyer, or media delegates. If interested in these buyers, you must purchase an IPW standard or express booth.

Can a Connect TOUR Table Top exhibitors participate in IPW’s Media Marketplace?

No. If interested in this media opportunity, you must purchase an IPW standard booth (not applicable to express booths).

If I purchase a traditional IPW exhibitor booth but can only bring one person, can I manage both IPW & Connect schedules?

It will not be possible for one person to manage two schedules as appointments may overlap. Traditional IPW exhibitors sending only one booth delegate can use the open networking time to meet with Connect TOUR domestic buyers.

Domestic Buyer FAQs

Who does the IPW Domestic Buyer program target?

The IPW Domestic Buyer program is intended for U.S.-based travel package companies whose revenues are driven in large amount by international visitors (51% or more).

  • Buyer delegates should be sourcing travel in a decision-making capacity.
  • Typical buyer categories for inclusion in the IPW Domestic Buyer program include receptive/inbound operators, global OTAs and global e-commerce travel companies.
  • Buyers are subject to pre-approval by the U.S. Travel Association and the IPW Advisory Group, which is comprised of exhibiting destinations and organizations.
  • NOTE: Receptive Tour Operators are required to also exhibit at IPW 2021.

Who does the Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer program target?

The Connect TOUR domestic buyer program is intended for U.S.-based travel package companies whose revenues are driven primarily through U.S.-based passengers.

  • Buyer delegates should be sourcing travel in a decision-making capacity.
  • Typical buyer categories for inclusion in the Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer program include domestic operators, U.S.-focused OTAs, retailers, consortia, and travel clubs.
  • Buyers are subject to pre-approval by Connect Travel.

Who approves Domestic Buyer registration requests?

U.S. Travel Association and the IPW Advisory Group, which is comprised of exhibiting destinations and organizations, approve requests to register as an IPW Domestic Buyer.

Connect Travel approves requests to register as a Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer.

Pre-approval is required before registration login codes will be provided. Complete the Domestic Buyer Qualification Questionnaire to submit your request for approval.

Can a Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer meet with a traditional IPW exhibitor?

Yes, but only if that exhibitor purchases the Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer Appointment Schedule add-on.

Are IPW and Connect TOUR Domestic Buyers eligible for hosted accommodation?

Yes. IPW Domestic Buyers are eligible for five (5) nights hotel, September 18-22 (room & tax only), with check-out on September 23.

Connect TOUR Domestic Buyers are eligible for four (4) nights hotel, September 19-22 (room & tax only), with check-out on September 23.

Appointment FAQs

How many appointments are included in the Domestic Buyer appointment schedule?

Both IPW and Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer schedules offer the possibility of up to 44 appointments.

Where do IPW Domestic Buyer appointments take place?

In the IPW exhibitor or Marketing and Technology Pavilion booth.

Where do Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer appointments take place?

An IPW exhibitor who purchases the Connect TOUR Domestic Buyer Appointment Schedule add-on, will meet with Connect TOUR Domestic Buyers in the IPW exhibitor’s booth.

A Connect TOUR supplier who purchases the Connect TOUR Table Top will meet with Connect TOUR Domestic Buyers at the table top.
