Buyer Pricing and Requirements

  • Buyer Pricing and Requirements

Buyer qualification is based on the individual applicant, not their organization's business model. To qualify, you must play a direct role in sourcing, contracting or developing U.S. travel products and have influence over purchasing decisions. All applications are reviewed individually.

+ Requirements For Hosted Housing & Appointments Policy

To qualify for hosted accommodation, all eligible buyers agree to request and attend a minimum of 36 appointments. Missed appointments may also result in accommodation charges.

  • There is no financial penalty for up to three verified missed appointments, although your IAC Chair and/or IPW management will discuss attendance with you after three reported missed appointments.
  • Four to seven verified missed appointments may result in 50% of your accommodation room and tax being applied to the credit card used to guarantee your hotel reservation.
  • Eight or more missed appointments may result in 100% of your room and tax being applied and may affect your eligibility to attend future IPWs unless U.S. Travel Association accepts your explanation for the missed appointments.

Hosted accommodation guidelines:

  • Hosted nights include Sunday, May 2, through Thursday, May 6 (with check-out on Friday, May 7) only.
  • Hosted charges include room and tax only. All incidental charges, pre- and post- hotel nights, charges for additional guests on the reservation, early check-out fees and no-show fees are the guest’s sole responsibility.
  • The Primary Occupant on the reservation must be the approved, appointment-taking buyer.
  • If a hosted delegate elects to share his/her room with another delegate that does not qualify for hosted housing, U.S. Travel Association will not pay for that room if only the “sharing” person’s name appears on the final hotel invoice.
